A brother of Apostle Peter, Apostle Andreas was a disciple of John the Baptist and later of Jesus. He preached the Christian religion in Bithynia, in the Black Sea, in Cyprus, in Thrace, Macedonia, Epirus and Achaia, where he healed many patients with the power of his faith. He is the patron saint of Patra, where his relics are kept.
